Viewer — can open the dashboard. Admin — can view, plus add and remove people. Owner — full control. Schools sets what each person sees: leave it on all eight for a district role, or tick only the schools someone covers — they then see only those schools' classes. Measures sets which numbers each person sees besides class size — all of them unless you untick some.

What “Stands out” means

A class stands out when it has noticeably more students with IEPs, students with 504 plans, or English learners — or is noticeably bigger — than the other sections of the same course.

“Noticeably” means two things are both true: the difference is too big to be chance for a class that size, and it is at least 2 more students than expected (5 more for class size). Small, ordinary differences never stand out.

Example. Woodcreek’s other Art 1 sections have about 5 students with IEPs in a class of 39. An Art 1 section with 12 students with IEPs stands out — so its IEP count shows in red with ▲, and the class gets a Stands out badge.

How to use it

  1. Click a Stands out badge (or Compare) to see the class side by side with the sections it was measured against.
  2. To list only the classes that stand out, open Stands out under “Add or change” and tick what you want to see.
  3. To change what a class is compared with — for example co-taught classes against the regular sections of the same course — use Compare each class with in that same box.

By default a class is compared with the other sections of the same course at the same school, with the same teaching type. At least two other sections are needed; otherwise the class is never flagged.
